Volleyball started in USA in 1895 by William Morgan who wanted to blend various sports mainly like baseball, tennis, basketball, handball but with less physical contact and intense movements.
From 1985 till 1964 the game was spreading through Canada , Brazil and other countries and changing the rules of the games .
National volleyball
refs were approved in 1934. About 50 years later a study showed that
volleyball is the fifth team sport organized and promoted for in USA.
Also
in this duration the beach volleyball started for men and women passing
with many changes in the rules of the game reaching the year 1964 when
it was the first time to be officially held in Tokyo summer Olympics.
First and second Olympic volleyball gold medals in 1964 and 1968 were for U.S.S.R followed by Japan in 1972. In 1980 U.S.S.R completed 6 gold medals of volleyball ( 3 for women and three for men ).
Finally in
2012 London Olympics Russia came back to complete its glory as a part of
U.S.S.R which started collecting gold medals in 1964 in the opening
official Olympic volleyball .
